DISNEYLAND

What a great way to start our blog.....DISNEYLAND!!!!!  We had such a blast! We have forgotten all the crazy bad moments and only reflect on the awesome memories. We went down on a Thursday night with my mom and dad, Janell and Kevin and their cute boys. I loved being with everyone. Brooklyn has Grandpa's facial expressions from the Indiana Jones ride imbedded in her mind....grandpa and a big smile. That's what I was hoping for, great memories. Of course my parents were a HUGE help and without them there it would have been really hard. Thanks to everyone, we made it through! The weather was much warmer than we expected and I wasn't prepared! All my kids had long sleeves and only a few short sleeved ones. The warm weather was a super nice change from the Utah Winter.

Mykenna's favorite ride this year was still Space Mountain.

Brooklyn loved California Screamin' and the Tower of Terror!

Kyler took a big leap this year and really got into some of the bigger rides like Tower of Terror, but really loved Big Thunder Railroad. His highlight was the Jedi Training where he became a Padawan...so cool!

Kaleb went on the coaster in Toon Town 6 times in a row and loved Buzz of course! But his favorite had to be the tea cups, he still asks me daily if we can go to the Tea Cups...cute huh!

Kade was really into the rockets in Tomorrowland and Buzz Lightyear (his fav...make sure you see pictures of Kade and Buzz) I think he enjoyed seeing all the characters the most. He cried when we had to leave Mickey. No, I lied...his favorite had to be playing in the water in Bug's Land with Grandma and Grandpa...drenched from head to toe, but the biggest smile you have ever seen!

On Monday morning we headed down to San Diego. We had intentions of going to Sea World and the wild Animal Park. I'm not big on the Zoo so we weren't going to do that. Since Garren served his mission there, and we went on our Honeymoon there, we are pretty familiar with the area. We like to drive around to Catalina Island, and La Jolla, and the lighthouse. We quickly found out that our kids don't think these places are as exciting as we do. We hit Sea World on Tuesday and met up with Dean and Alisa and their girls, and Ruston and Damaris and their girls. Kinda funny that we were all vacationing at the same time (I don't think that JoAnn found this funny at all!) Anyway, we enjoyed Sea World and I got some great pics of the twins with the sea stars. The older kids rode the  rafting ride about 3 times in a row and were soaking wet for the rest of the day...it was kinda chilly and a tad windy. They were miserable. My favorite was watching the outdoor penguins being fed. I got to ask the caretaker lots of questions and learned alot about the little guys. Sea World has really short hours during this time of year, which stunk! We didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted to. We spent the night in the hotel room watching American Idol. We had a suite so the twins fell asleep on the beds and we were able to watch TV in the other room.

We had intentions of going to the Wild Animal Park on Wednesday, but the kids didn't want to go. They wanted to go back to Disneyland. (okay I admit, they weren't the only ones pushing to go back!) I got some discount tickets on EBAY....is this bad? Anyway, we headed back up to Disneyland on Wednesday. It was raining most of the day but we seemed to dodge the rain often enough. We had a huge downpour towards the  end of the night, but we were on the train and stayed warm and dry. Since it was raining and a weekday,  we basically got to walk onto whatever ride we wanted. We made sure to hit everyone's favorites. Kade was sooooo great and honestly, this was our best day at Disneyland. We stayed an extra night and flew home on Thursday instead of Wednesday. Oh, I wish we were still there!
